DATALINE gets positioned on DISPLAY LUMAscape - June 2012
The first LUMAscape - online advertising landscape chart was unveiled at a conference in 2010. Since then, it has flown all over the web and had over 925,000 views online - from people in 116 countries. The slide has prompted "hundreds, if not thousands" of requests from marketing and PR departments to have their companies be included on the slide. Making sure that an industry of more than 400 companies fits on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper is a bit of a challenge. These snapshots are serious conversation starters.
Some background: Terence Kawaja, founder of LUMA Partners created the "LUMAscape" in 2009 when he was working on a map of the digital advertising universe. He took actual ownership of the chart in 2011 by naming it after his brand. The branding seems to have worked. Ad Age has noted, the LUMAscapes are recognized industry wide as LUMA Partners' "calling card."
